Mod Bod | Some Refashion Victims

Everyone (it seems) does the cutest refashions of clothes that were well on their way to the golden dumpster up in the sky, and I want in on this action! I've tried my hand at sewing a few articles of clothing (some more successful than others) but I'm not one to walk away from a challenge, especially a potentially money saving one. So, I put on my best thrifting eyes and conquered my local D.I. (Deseret Industries). These are the beauties I found:

Say it with me, "Pure Awesomeness." You don't see it? Neither did the D.I. checker who raised his eyebrows as he was scanning these babies, "oh, what...lovely dresses." I quickly defended myself with, "don't worry, I'll be cutting them up and making new clothes out of them." He was unconvinced.

Perhaps I can convince you, though. For that lovely pink number, I'm thinking of making a very cute high-waist skirt, like the picture below. Definitely the opposite of its current polygamist inclinations, right?

C&C
For the navy and white stretchy dress, I want to go a little retro Panam (I know there have to be other groupies of this awesome show out there). I love the neckline on this dress but I want to do 3/4 length sleeves.

So what do you think? Can it be done? Should it be done?
